10 Principles of Prayer
  1. Be still before God and careful not to speak in haste as you pray. Ecclesiastes 5:1-3
  2. Come Boldly – A timid spirit is not from God and will affect your prayers. 2 Timothy 1:7. Come Boldly to the throne of Grace Hebrews 4:16
  3. Focus on your time with God settle your mind – Cast down all thoughts and arguments in your mind before you pray. 2 Corinthians 10:5
  4. If you are going to commune with God, there cannot be any barriers or aprons (hiding areas) preventing intimacy with God. Genesis 3:7 No matter how imperfect you are, God loves you and desires to fellowship with you. Romans 8:38
  5. When you stand to pray, forgive. Mark 11:25 unforgiveness and unsettled disputed hinder your prayers. 1 Peter 3:7 Study the word and pray for the person that has offended you. Matthew 5:44
  6. Be Patient – A lack of patience can hinder answered prayer. James 1:3 Man ought always to pray and not faint. Luke 18:1
  7. Believe – When you pray, believe. Matt 21:22 He that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of Heb 11:6. Bring your struggle to believe God in prayer that He may minister hope to you. Wavering faith receives nothing from God. James 1:1-8
  8. Come to Fellowship – Prayer is not only making requests develop a heart to fellowship with God’s presence. Psalm 16:11
  9. Humility – Be careful not to brag about what you pray for or brag about your prayer life. The Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Bragging will be your reward, and our prayers will not be answered. Matt 6:2-4
  10. Know your place – Remember your position and God’s position. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places. You must pray in a posture knowing you have favor with God. Esther 5:7-8 & chapter 7.
