Gifts, Visions & Assignments

Your entire life is about what God wants to accomplish on the earth. So it was for Jesus, and so shall it be for you. The 42 generations of Jesus were about the purpose and plan of God. God uses everything.

He is intentional…
The purpose in which your pain and your experiences are used.
The purpose in which your gifts have been given to you.
The purpose of your obedience is not entirely about you. It’s also about your influence to help heal and exhibit the Lord’s love.

Romans 8:26-30
26 And in the same way—by our faith[e]—the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don’t even know what we should pray for nor how to pray as we should, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the Spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will. 28 We know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.

29 For from the very beginning, God decided that those who came to him—and all along he knew who would—should become like his Son, so that his Son would be the First, with many brothers. 30 And having chosen us, he called us to come to him; and when we came, he declared us “not guilty,” filled us with Christ’s goodness, gave us right standing with himself, and promised us his glory. This text includes so much of the topic of this devotion. Us fitting into God’s plans and promising his glory are inclusive to our gifts, visions, and assignments. Without this text, we would not have any of them.

What are gifts and callings?
They are answers to the world’s hurt and trauma.
Your gifts are your abilities to do a thing to answer something or someone.
• Called to sing
• Called to write
• Called to theater/drama/acting
• Called to modeling
• Called to media/TV/podcasting/radio

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Habakkuk 2:2-3 The Living Bible
2 And the Lord said to me, “Write my answer on a billboard,[a] large and clear so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell the others. 3 But these things I plan won’t happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow,[b] do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!

Visions do not expire. When you are faithful to a vision is it will come to pass slowly, steadily surely. Paul wrote from prison Philippians, Ephesians, Colossians, and Philemon write the assignment and not gripe about your experience.

• What you write is the answer
• What you sing is the answer
• What you draw is the answer
• What you teach is the answer
• What you sew is the answer
• What you cook is the answer
I believe your professional career is the answer for someone as well. Jesus was the answer for a family that needed a table, a stable for a farm, and he was a carpenter. His assignment was to save humility from sin. Jesus today is still the answer!

The Assignment
Your assignment will always be sacrificial. Look at these examples:
Martin Luther King – preacher activist
Rosa Parks – School teacher
Harriet Tubman – a soldier for social justice
They made great sacrifices to use their gifts, walk out the vision as an assignment. They all succeeded. I encourage you today that so will you! Don’t give a second thought to if you are ready; God has that covered. Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. You will be taught just to slow down and pay attention to what the Holy Spirit is teaching you to prepare you for your assignment.

To help you along with this devotion, allow me to ask you this question; what mountain do you stand on? As you start this new year, understanding what mountain you stand on is vital. To explain more, the seven mountains of influence are religion, family, government, media, arts & business. Your gift, vision, and assignment are for an intentional purpose.
God is using you as an answer!
